Each year, some of our members take their training to the next level and compete in all kinds of events. Our members do us proud with their hard work and dedication. So, we love to show off their great work.
January 2022
Alexis Raymundo competed in his first ever powerlifting meet at the Red River Showdown in Oklahoma. He ended with a 424.3 lb. squat, 259 lb. bench, and 446.4 lb. deadlift.
East Texas Toughest strongman competition was held Jan 30 at the Mt. Pleasant Civic Center. Todd Taylor, Kyle Thompson and Andrew Burton competed: Kyle got 2nd in 264# novice heavyweight, Todd got 1st in 264# open heavyweight, and Andrew got 2nd in open super heavyweight.
February 2022
Scarlette Odell represented her high school in a powerlifting meet on February 10th. She finished with a 185lb squat, 105lb bench and 230lb deadlift.
March 2022
Brad Jennings competed at Collegiate Nationals (Whoop! Aggies) with a 611lb squat, 374lb bench, and 606lb deadlift.
April 2022
Vicki Schoenberg competed in the bikini division at the 2022 NPC Phil Heath Classic.
May 2022
Jacob Baesler competed at the East Texas Open in Houston on May 7th. He ended up squatting 420 lbs., benching 260 lbs., and deadlifting 470 lbs.
Erin Higginbotham and Freddy Guante went on stage at the NPC Southwest Expo on May 7. Erin placed 1st in Master's Physique. Freddy took home the title of Men's Novice Classic Physique Overall Winner.
Trainer David Tatro and clients Andy and Tiffany Howard finished the Austin Spartan race -- 20 obstacles and a 5k race -- on May 21st.
At the 2020 NPC Steve Kuclo Classic, Troy Gardner returned to the bodybuilding stage after 26 years to take home two first place trophies in Masters 35+ and 50+ bodybuilding as well as top 3 in open bodybuilding (and this was just the beginning...see July below). Freddy Guante again racked up trophies, including 1st in novice bodybuilding, competing in his second show this month.
June 2022
Ashley Bisson and Dana Johnson hit the stage at the UBU Expo in Dallas on June 18th. Ashley finished 1st in the Fitness division. Dana took home 2nd place in Masters Over 60.
In mid-June, one of 600 athletes attending, Andrew Burton placed 7th at the USS Nationals strongman competition in the open super heavyweights.
July 2022
Troy Gardner and Heath Jackson competed at the NPC Universe competition in the New York City area and both won their divisions and earned their IFBB pro cards!
On July 9, after recovering from an injury that occurred back in January, John Trent competed at the USPA Battle at Bodyworks powerlifting meet in Oklahoma and added a 1st place medal to his collection!
August 2022
John Trent competed at the RIPL 2nd annual powerlifting meet raising money for suicide prevention in Mt Pleasant. The event raised over $14k.
